I was recently invited to give a guest lecture at SVYASA Yoga University on the topic ‘Pratyahara – Yoga’s Forgotten Limb’. This was my second online guest lecture at this esteemed institution. Over 90 people participated in the event. We had an enthusiastic Q&A session towards the end that helped clarify a lot of doubts and bring about lasting shifts in mindsets.
I was humbled by how well the lecture was received. Dr Jagdish Naik ji was kind enough to share some of the messages he received from the participants after the session. Here are some screenshots….
Pratyahara is the in between stage: a link between the external aspects of yoga such as Aasan, Pranayam and Niyam, and the internal aspects such as Dhyana (meditation) and Samadhi. I have also blogged about this topic in the year 2016 here.
Pratyahara is indeed a forgotten limb of yoga that, when adopted and worked towards, can transform our lives in unimaginable ways.
