Are you a yogi? Perhaps some of these items could help with your yoga practice or keep you motivated. Perhaps someone dear to you is very much into yoga, who may enjoy receiving some of these as yoga gifts. You could check out yoga stuff deals yourself or you may want to check out these gift ideas for a yogi friend:
Yoga mat
This may be a rather obvious choice, but could be useful if the current yoga mat is worn, torn or faded. This Kobo NBR athletica yoga mat has all the standard features, plus a carry strap for added convenience. Decorative yoga mats with pretty floral and other designs are also now available, like this Strauss mat with the memory foam layer. This yoga mat has an added feature of illustrations of common yoga aasans as well. If you want only the yoga mat strap, this is available too.
Foam pads for support
This can be a useful and thoughtful gift for the older yoga practitioner or for someone who has joint trouble. The yoga knee pad provides cushioning for the knees so that people with conditions such as arthritis or stiff joints can continue to practice yoga with less pain. Elbow exercise pads could be another good idea for anyone, particularly those looking to increase the difficulty level or intensity of their yoga practice.
Yoga hygiene kit
With the brutal summer upon us, this is something that may be welcome for any yogi in Mumbai or elsewhere. It isn’t just the sweat and the odor that needs taking care of, the multiplying bacteria can be a serious issue. For this, something like this sports equipment sanitizer kit can be a good idea. The spray sanitizes and deodorizes, and the microfiber cloth helps rub down any equipment. There are many pleasant fragrance options available.
Yoga décor
This may be just the thing to give to the committed yogi who wants to create a bit of a yogic ambience in the home or yoga class: posters, frames, prints and more. This elegant yoga wall decal is one good idea; simply peel and paste. The seven chakras vinyl wall sticker is another good option. I think this large sized yoga poses wall decal may be a good idea for a yoga class as well.
Something for the ambience
Aromatherapy candles or diffusers and fragrant agarbattis are a great way to create a lovely atmosphere and put one in a better frame of mind not just for yoga and meditation, but generally as well. This set of ayurveda multi fragrance combo pack of agarbattis in fragrances such as chandan, rose, saffron and many others is one good idea. Diffusers are another good idea. Electric diffusers are convenient, but I prefer the ones that use a tea light and fragrant oils. An oil diffuser is easily available. A set of fragrant oils along with this can make a great gift.
Yoga clothing
Several online stores sell yoga clothing such as yoga pants and other active wear. You could buy these if you have all the sizing info. Or you could also give a gift card if you’re not sure. Another option is to buy a T shirt with witty yoga quotes. Buy them or order them from one of those gift customization websites. Some suggestions: “real men do yoga”, “I practice hot yoga to sweat out the crazy”, “I do yoga – I bend so I don’t break”, “when in doubt, do yoga!”, “Yoga and meditation! Because therapy is expensive!”
Yoga books
In an earlier post I had listed some of the top recommended yoga books. This may be another good gift idea for the yogi – you or someone close to you looking to understand the nuances and the history of this great discipline.
