HAPPY DIWALI EVERYONE !!!
Diwali is a time for celebrations and gifting. Unfortunately those gifts often tend to be big boxes of sweets, chocolates, unhealthy fried foods. This is hardly the sort of thing that a health conscious yoga practitioner is likely to expect or appreciate. So if you’re wondering what to get the yogi in your life, here are some ideas they are bound to appreciate. I am going beyond the obvious ones such as a yoga bricks and blocks, yoga mat, yoga clothing or a mat cover:
A funky yoga tee
“I don’t need therapy, all I need is yoga” says this t shirt on Amazon. It is available in different colours. I thought it was really cute; just right for that yoga lover who won’t miss their yoga class for anything! There are various other such t shirt designs: with some popular yoga poses, another with the ‘aum’ sign and ‘positive vibes only’ printed on it and some more cool, stylized ones.
Yoga themed décor
“I love yoga” says this ready to hang, framed motivational wall poster for a yoga teacher, for the class or anyone who does yoga regularly. I also liked this wall clock with a back light and some yoga poses. It can be put up on the wall or can be used as a table top item; just to tell the dedicated yogi when it is yoga-o-clock! A colourful themed wall hanging such as this one can be a great idea too – just the sort of thing to create the right ambience while doing yoga.
Diffuser
This is the perfect way to create a nice and fragrant atmosphere for yoga while creating a glow of natural light at the same time. There are various types and variants of diffusers available, including the electric ones. What I like best are the ceramic ones that need a tea light and any fragrant /essential oils. You can even use that diffuser light to do tratak kriya; the method of meditation that I blogged about recently.
Yoga themed mug
I came across quite a few interesting and funny yoga themed mugs. One of them had this really cute little pug doing all these yoga poses. Then there was one more, a cute motivational one saying “yoga se hi hoga”. Another funny one said “talk to me when your chakras are aligned”. I think any yogi with a sense of humour would like to start the day with some refreshing beverage in any of these mugs.
Copper water bottle
Hydration is important for any workout, yoga as well. So most of us have some sort of water bottle with us. Copper is thought to have health giving properties and it is recommended to drink out of copper vessels. A copper water bottle such as this may be a great idea for the yogi in your life; sipping water with additional health benefits!
Other gifts the yogi in your life may like
Send them on a yoga retreat of their choice. Offer to go with them! Or promise to start doing yoga with them! Maybe that is a gift they may like more than any other!
